By a Staff Reporter The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced the National Cricket team including young wicketkeeper Arjun Saud and former captain Gyanendra Malla for bilateral series against Kenya.   Arjun, who plays domestic cricket from the Far West holds the experience of playing in the Nepal U19 National team is called up for the first time in the senior National team. Prabhakar was a famous all-rounder in Indian cricket during the 1990s. The 59-year-old Prabhakar featured in 39 Tests, 130 ODIs, 154 First Class and 214 List A matches from India. Prabhakar played three consecutive World Cups in 1987, 1992, and 1996. His career came to an end following the worst bowling he did in the Word Cup in 1996 against Sri Lanka. Manoj Prabhakar appointed as new head coach of National Cricket team

By a Staff Reporter The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has appointed former Indian allrounder Manoj Prabhakar as the head coach of the Nepal National Cricket team. Following the resignation of Pubudu Dassayanke, CAN appointed a new head coach for the team. Prabhakar featured India in 39 test matches and 130 ODIs from India. He has scored 1,858 runs including two centuries and 11 fifties and has taken 157 wickets in ODIs. Likewise, he has scored 1600 runs including 1 century and has taken 96 wickets in test matches.   Prabhakar holds experience in coaching the Afghanistan Cricket team. By a Staff Reporter The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) will appoint a new coach for the Nepali National Cricket team prior to the Kenya tour. Nepal is scheduled to play three 50-over practice matches and five T-20i in the Kenya tour in August.   CAN has informed that they will appoint the head coach soon which got vacant after the resignation of Pubudu Dassanayake. Acting Secretary of CAN, Prashant Bikram Malla stated that a decision regarding the head coach will be taken within a week. "The decision regarding head coach will be done within this week. Lamichhane is only the player from Nepal to be included in the draft. Similarly, Namibian David Wiese, Scottish Michael Jones and Mark Watt, Vriitya Aravind from UAE, America's Ali Khan, Unmukt Chand, and Harmeet Singh are the players from other associate countries included in the draft. The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) office bearers have been rapidly discussing regarding the appointment of a new head coach but salary is becoming the barrier in its way. As Dassanayake resigned in between his agreement date,  the International Cricket Council (ICC) informed that the appointment of coach should not be done through open competition. Moreover ICC suggested CAN to appoint one from their archived shortlists. Dassanayake used to receive a remuneration of $10,000 per month. Acting Secretary Prashant Bikram Malla informed that the award was presented to Chand in the ICC's Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Birmingham, England for his long term service in the Nepali Cricket Board. Dassanayake was appointed as a head coach for the second time last year. He quitted today after working for 7 months. He was under pressure due to the bad results of the team recently.
