By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) included Sandeep Lamichhane in the second phase of the preliminary squad. Axing off Sharad Vesawkar, Binod Bhandari, Sagar Dhakal, Siddhant Lohani, Abinash Bohara, Bibek Yadav, Anil Sah, Bikram Sob, Bhuvan Karki, and Ankit Subedi, CAN included former Skipper Sandeep Lamichhane and Pratish GC in the second phase of the preliminary squad on Thursday. The Board Meeting of CAN held on Tuesday at Pokhara lifted the ban imposed on Sandeep Lamichhane, who is accused of raping a minor. Office of Attorney General demands Sandeep to be detained and prosecuted

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - The Office of Attorney General filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Tuesday demanding that cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, accused of rape, should be detained and prosecuted. The bench of High Court judges Dhruvaraj Bhattarai and Ramesh Dhakal on January 12 overturned the Kathmandu district court’s order and directed Lamichhane to be released on bail. The court demanded a bail amount of NRs. 2 Million. Citing that the order given by Patan High Court to release Sandeep is flawed, the Office of Attorney General filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
