First Women’s Open Golf Championship on Saturday

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Arshiya Group is all set to organize the First Women’s Open Golf Tournament this Saturday in coordination with the Royal Nepal Golf Club. The organisers during a press conference in the capital on Thursday confirmed that the one-day tournament will be held at the Royal Nepal Golf Club. During the event, Arshiya Group will be represented by Arshiya Banu, Pratima Sherpa and Sareeta Shri Gyawali. The tournament will feature more than 50 players, said Nepal’s number one woman golfer Pratima Sherpa on behalf of the organisers. Sukra wins third title of season to become Nepal’s No 1 pro golfer

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Sukra Bahadur Rai won the Surya Nepal Premier Golf Championship for his third title of the season and seventh overall. Sukra carded three-under 69 in the final round to post the winning total of 19-under 269 at the Gokarna Golf Club on Thursday. He registered a six-stroke victory over pro Niraj Tamang, who faltered to two-over 74 for the 72-hole score of 13-under 275. With his third title of the season, Sukra received Rs 250,000 and became the new No 1 pro with the total earning of Rs 663,500. Niraj earned Rs 155,000. By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Amateur Subash Tamang won the Surya Nepal NPGA Tour Championship at the par-72 Gokarna Golf Club on Thursday.  Subash had a comfortable seven-stroke victory over pro Sukra Bahadur Rai and Bhuwan Nagarkoti to become the first amateur golfer to win three major titles. Surya Nepal NPGA Tour Championship to tee off on Monday

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Surya Nepal NPGA Tour Championship, the seventh event of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2021-22, will tee off on Monday at Gokarna Golf Club. According to the organisers, the four-day event will be played over 72 holes from May 9 and conclude on May 12. Cut will be applied after completion of 36 holes, reads a statement issued by Deepak Acharya, general secretary of Professional Golfers Association of Nepal. April 22: Bhuwan Nagarkoti clinched the title of the Surya Nepal Challenge, the sixth event under Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2021-22, at the par-68 Royal Nepal Golf Club on Friday.  Nepal No 1 pro Bhuwan carded two-under 66 in the final round to post the winning total of 13-under 259. He registered a four-stroke victory over Jayram Shrestha to claim the second title of the season and 10th overall.
