Sudurpaschim stuns Madesh to confirm spot in the final

Kathmandu – Sudurpaschim Province stunned Madesh Province by 7 wickets to confirm their spot in the final of ongoing Wai Wai U19 National Cricket Tournament.

Madesh’s Inning

Sudurpaschim’s 15-year-old debutant Yuvraj Khatri became the limelight of the day. Bowling 9 overs including a maiden, the young spinner hit the stump twice and gave away only 15 runs.

With Naren Saud claiming a 5-wicket haul and Hemant Dhami booking 3 wickets, Madesh packed up their innings in 38.1 overs for 122 runs. Madesh’s middle order batsman Ali Ansari collected the highest of 32 runs for his team off 56 deliveries with 5 fours.

A duck out forced opener Shailendra Sah and captain Abhisekh Tiwari back to the pavilion. Mayan Yadav, who began the inning scored 23 off 28 deliveries with 2 fours and a six.

Dablu Malik (11), Imran Sheikh (28), Rajesh Yadav (6), Nitesh Yadav (4), Abjit Mandal (6), and Symon Roy added 1 run to the tally. Ranjit Kumar remained unbeaten for 3 runs.

Sudurpaschim’s Inning

In return, Sudurpaschim chased the winning target of 123 runs in 18.5 overs. Gajendra Bohara, stepping in as a fourth batsman smashed a sixer off Ranjit Kumar’s delivery to end the match in favor of his team.

Deepak and Dipak Bohara, who opened the innings shared a 51 runs partnership for the fall of the first wicket. Striking 6 fours, Dipak contributed 24 runs off 24 deliveries before Abhisekh Tiwari caught his shot off Symon Roy’s delivery.

Collecting 53 runs Deepak Bohara, left the crease in 17.1 overs. Gajendra Bohara and Anurag Singh remained not out for 23 and 2 runs.

Madesh’s Abishek Tiwari claimed 2 wickets and Symon Roy took apiece.

With 5 wins from 5 played, Sudurpaschim tops the points table with 10 points. Bagmati falls behind Sudurpaschim with 8 points. Lumbini stands third, Province 1 fourth, and Karnali fifth. Gandaki and Madesh are at the bottom with 0 points.
